Biomedical Scientist graduated from the Fluminense Federal University (2010), with a Master’s degree in Sciences from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (2012) and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from UFF (2025). She has extensive experience in the field of Microbiology and Health, with an emphasis on the Molecular Epidemiology of zoonotic pathogens, particularly Leptospira spp., integrating approaches from genomics, bioinformatics, ecology, and One Health.
Her research involves phylogenetic and comparative analyses, ecological niche modeling, molecular surveillance, and studies on the genetic diversity and environmental adaptation of microorganisms.
She develops national and international collaborative projects aimed at understanding the ecological and evolutionary determinants of leptospirosis and other bacterial zoonoses. She is also engaged in teaching and science outreach activities, with a focus on public science communication, health education, and the training of new generations of interdisciplinary researchers working at the human–animal–environment interface.
